Direct answer

Start by deciding which Limit lane you mean. Limit Wholesale may fit a supported cyber, technology E&O, professional liability or management liability account when you want a structured digital quoting and comparison workflow. Limit Bridge may fit when your brokerage already holds the relevant carrier appointments and wants to transact through those direct relationships. Nomos may fit when the existing file needs interpretation before it fits a product path, or when the exposure reaches beyond Limit's publicly emphasized professional lines. None of those starting points guarantees eligibility, a quote or placement.

At-a-glance fit.

Nomos may fit when...

  • The first useful step is a broker's reading of an existing or incomplete submission, not a predefined product workflow.
  • The exposure reaches beyond the cyber, technology E&O, professional liability and management liability lines Limit currently emphasizes.
  • The account needs clarification or market strategy before the agent chooses a transaction lane.
  • Nomos can identify a credible wholesale direction for the specific account.

Limit may fit when...

  • The account fits a current Limit Wholesale workflow and you want structured digital quoting and quote comparison.
  • Your brokerage has the relevant direct appointments and wants to use Limit Bridge to transact through them.
  • The risk sits in Limit's publicly emphasized cyber, technology E&O, professional liability or management liability categories.
  • You already use Limit effectively and understand which entity and transaction lane handle the account.

Compare the lane

Comparison dimensions.

The route

Nomos
A broker-led wholesale route that begins with the file and an appetite question.
Limit
Two distinct routes: Limit Wholesale as an intermediary, or Bridge for the retail brokerage's own appointed markets.

Published product focus

Nomos
Publishes E&S and specialty categories spanning property, casualty, professional, executive and other commercial risks.
Limit
Currently emphasizes cyber, technology E&O, professional liability and management liability.

Starting information

Nomos
Send the existing file for direct review; additional applications or supplementals may still be required.
Limit
Enter a supported digital workflow designed to produce and compare available results.

Direct appointments

Nomos
The retail agent uses Nomos as the wholesale intermediary for the account.
Limit
Bridge is designed to use the retail brokerage's own insurer appointments; that is different from Limit Wholesale.

Digital quote result

Nomos
Does not present itself as a self-service instant-quote product. An insurer or authorized entity determines terms and authority.
Limit
Some supported workflows may return instant, bindable quotes; confirm whether that outcome applies to the actual account.

When the form is not enough

Nomos
Broker judgment is part of the opening step, including interpreting the risk and identifying missing information.
Limit
Limit publishes access to a wholesale brokerage team alongside its digital workflows; find out how exceptions and referrals are handled.

Who is in the transaction

Nomos
Confirm Nomos's role, the proposed insurer and any other intermediary before market release.
Limit
Confirm whether the file is using Limit Wholesale or Bridge and which licensed or contracting entity appears on the transaction documents.

After binding

Nomos
Identify who handles endorsements, billing questions, claims routing, documents and renewal for the selected placement.
Limit
Check which post-bind tasks remain in Limit's platform, with its brokerage team, with your brokerage or with the insurer.

Limit has two insurance-placement lanes

The useful comparison is not Nomos against one undifferentiated Limit product. Limit’s current site separates Limit Wholesale, a digital wholesale brokerage route, from Bridge, which is designed for retail brokerages to quote through carrier relationships they already hold. Its cybersecurity-services marketplace is another product again and is not an insurance-placement alternative to Nomos.

That distinction changes who sits between the retail brokerage and the insurer. With Limit Wholesale, Limit is part of the intermediary chain. With Bridge, the brokerage uses its own appointments through Limit’s technology. Nomos is the wholesale intermediary from the start. Before comparing interfaces, establish which relationship the account actually needs.

A digital result still needs a label

Limit publicly offers instant quoting, recommendations and comparison tools. For a supported account, that can make Limit the practical route: structured inputs enter a workflow built to return and compare available results. Limit’s Bridge announcement also describes application, quoting, comparison and binding through directly appointed markets.

The word result needs precision. Eligibility, a brokerage referral, an insurer quote and a bindable offer are different events. A platform-level instant-quote capability does not establish which event this submission can reach. Ask that before entering client information or treating an option as available.

Nomos starts with a different opening question: what does this file represent, where might it fit, and what is missing? That may be more useful when operations do not map cleanly to a supported workflow. It may be unnecessary friction when a professional-lines account clearly fits a Limit path the agency already knows.

Product focus may settle the choice early

Limit’s recent public material emphasizes cyber liability, technology E&O, miscellaneous E&O and management liability. Its 2025 professional-lines announcement describes both instant platform quoting and support from a wholesale brokerage team. That combination may be attractive when the account belongs squarely in those lines.

Nomos publishes a broader set of E&S and specialty coverage categories. That makes it a more plausible opening conversation for property, casualty or cross-category submissions outside Limit’s stated focus, but a published category is not proof of current insurer appetite or placement for the file.

Confirm the company behind the workflow

Limit’s site says insurance products are offered by Apollo Brokers, Inc. and publishes Apollo’s state licensing information. Limit also announced in 2025 that certain operating assets were sold to McGowan while the Limit brand would continue. Ownership, brand, licensed producer and contracting entity are not interchangeable.

For an actual placement, use the names on current appointment, quote, invoice and policy documents. Then confirm whether the account is moving through Limit Wholesale, through Bridge under the retail brokerage’s own appointments, or through Nomos as wholesale broker. That transaction map is more useful than comparing the companies as labels.

Questions to ask before choosing.

  1. 01 Is this account going through Limit Wholesale or through Bridge using our own direct appointments?
  2. 02 Does the exact class, state, revenue, limit and coverage request fit a current Limit workflow?
  3. 03 Can Nomos work from the file we already have, and what additional information would the account still need?
  4. 04 Is a displayed Limit result an eligibility decision, a wholesale referral, an insurer quote or a bindable offer?
  5. 05 Which insurer and licensed intermediary receive the submission when we authorize release?
  6. 06 Which company name and license appear on the appointment, quote, invoice and policy documents?
  7. 07 Who owns endorsements, billing questions, claims routing and renewal after binding?

Short answers.

Is Limit a wholesale brokerage or a marketplace?

Limit presents more than one operating lane. Limit Wholesale is a digital wholesale brokerage path, while Limit Bridge is designed to quote through a retail brokerage's own carrier appointments. Limit also publishes a separate cybersecurity-services marketplace, which isn't the insurance-placement route compared here.

Does every Limit submission produce an instant quote?

No conclusion like that follows from Limit's public platform claims. Instant quoting applies only where the account, product, state and underwriting workflow support it. Confirm whether the actual result is eligibility, a referral, an insurer quote or a bindable offer.

When may Nomos be the clearer starting point?

Nomos may be clearer when the account arrives as an existing file that needs interpretation, falls outside Limit's publicly emphasized professional lines, or requires appetite work before a digital product path makes sense. That review does not guarantee carrier access, terms or placement.

Bring the account.
Keep the client.

Retail insurance agents and brokerages can email Nomos to discuss appointment or a commercial account that needs wholesale market access.
