Insurance for products you stand behind.
Coverage for importers, private-label brands and product companies that need liability protection from factory to retailer.
The questions every
owner should ask.
We do not manufacture the product. Can we still be sued?
Yes. Importers and brand owners are often treated like the manufacturer in a product claim, especially when the overseas factory is hard to reach.
A retailer wants to be added to our policy. Is that normal?
Yes, but the wording matters. Additional insured status, vendor endorsements, primary/non-contributory wording and waiver language should be reviewed against the contract.
Does cargo insurance cover product liability?
No. Cargo protects goods in transit. Product liability protects against injury or damage allegedly caused by the product.
What if a product has to be pulled from shelves?
Product withdrawal, recall expense, disposal, testing and brand restoration may need dedicated recall coverage. GL alone is not a recall policy.

Retailer contracts translated

Supply chain explained

Liability and transit separated
Product, recall, cargo, warehouse and cyber exposures are placed as different problems, not jammed into one generic policy.
